If using the foam board, you will need to purchase the push pins (not the nails).
How to make:
Note: You can paint the wooden or foam board before beginning the project. Just allow to fully dry before starting this project.
To start, printing this complimentary heart template will make the project run smoother. Though any heart outline should suffice, this specific one reveals precisely where you should place each nail.
Securely attach the printed graphic to your wooden board/canvas with tape. Then, carefully insert nails or pins at each marked dot on the paper. When finished, slowly and gently remove the sheet from its backing. It should rip away from around the nails/pins.
Invite your child to make use of string or yarn and guide them in weaving it across the nails, staying within the confines of the heart. There is no wrong way to wrap – they can go crisscross or side by side; just be sure that every nail has been used! You can encourage them to start off by looping around each individual nail, thereby forming a pronounced outline for their masterpiece before weaving back and forth within its boundaries.
