During this time of uncertainty and seclusion, two things are a constant for me… my coworker and coffee.
Everyone is experiencing their own version of isolation right now – even on the front lines. The one thing that I know for sure is that, while our situations are completely different, we are all alone together. We are living this new normal together. Routine, structure, and busy hands will help get us through this temporary disruption.
As for me, my new normal revolves around a squirrel obsessed coworker and an unhealthy amount of coffee. Let me introduce my coworker and employee of the month… an 8 year young springer spaniel, swiss mountain mix.
Bailey has filled many roles in the past 8 years – personal trainer, best friend, and garbage disposal, to name a few. She has taken to this new role of coworker effortlessly.
Bailey is the assistant you can count on to bark during the most important calls, and who is always right behind you supporting the every 15 minute snack breaks.
Albeit temporary, gone are the days of sitting in the office, bundled in layers of clothing to keep the chill away. Since relocating my office, I now have a 50 pound howling heater on my lap. Bailey is the best coworker and the very best part of my quarantine.
So here’s to another Monday, at home, beside the best companion. Stay strong everyone, our hearts are with you all.
